GLOBAL ANTI-CORRUPTION RANK: Who’s leading the way?
Global anti-corruption ranking is performed and annually published by Transparency International. Global Anti-corruption ranking refers to the actions and the data collection taken at the international level among all the country to combat corruption on global scale. The most famous and well known ranking related to corruption is “Corruption perceptions Index” (CPI) .Nowadays Corruption has become the global issue that often involves multiple countries, so for addressing it effectively requires the international cooperation and coordination. To create this Index Transparency International collects data from many source and countries are assigned scores ranging from 0 (Highly corrupt) to 100(Very clean or least corrupt).
As from the
data collected at 2022;
Top 5 least corrupt countries are:
1. Denmark
2. Finland
3. New Zealand
4. Singapore
5. Norway
Bottom 5 most corrupt countries are:
1. Syria
2. Somalia
3. Yemen
4. Venezuela
5. North Korea
SO, from the above list it is clear that
Denmark’s ranking as one of the least corrupt country in the world. Denmark is
being successful to sit on the first position for many years. The peoples,
citizens, children and laws played an important role for making a corruption
free country.
Here are
some of the key reason why Denmark is often perceived as a best country to
fight against corruption.
· Strong rule of law: Denmark has a strong rule against the corruption. The judiciary plays a
vital role because it is independent which helps to ensure accountability and
protects the country from corruption.
· Education and awareness: Most of the people of Denmark are well illiterate and educated
and the government mostly invest in educating their citizens and teach them the
harmful effect and consequences of corruption.
· Public support and understanding: To make a country clean and free from corruption, there must
be mutual supports and understanding between the citizens of the country. The
corruption happens between publics and it can only be solved by the publics.
· Reward and punishment: A person is rewarded for doing a good work whereas a person
can also be punished for doing bad works. It is also applicable here, as a
person do their job honestly and sincerely, they earn respect as a reward and
if try to corrupt or do it in insincerely way they get punish as the rule and
law of Denmark is strict.
So these are
some of the main reason for the success of Denmark to become the corruption
free country.
